I graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education with a Grades 1-8 Certification and a Reading Specialization. I have been teaching for 29 years. My first year I taught in Lamesa, TX , but moved to O'Donnell for the rest of my teaching career to be near my home and my 4 children who were in school there.  I have taught 5th grade for 4 years, 3rd grade for 22 years, and 4th grade for 3 years. Most of those years I taught the Reading, Math and Science. The last 3 years I have taught the Math for the 4th and 5th grade students and I am presently teaching in that capacity. I have developed a great love of Math and my desire is to help children develop their math skills so they can be productive citizens in the world. Math is like solving a puzzle and is fun to solve. I hope I can instill this love for math in my students.  I am also very involved in helping students with Science Fair. I have a G/T certification and love to see children reach their academic potentials. I believe if you set the bar of learning high, the students will reach it. I believe in having a GROWTH MINDSET and never giving up.

I grew up in Lamesa, Tx and graduated in 1971. I attended college at Angelo State University and Lubbock Christian University. I married my husband, Jerry Dee Franklin, and chose to stay home and help him on the farm west of O'Donnell and raise our 4 children. I decided to finish my education some 17 years later and enter the teaching field. I graduated from Texas Tech University with Magna Cum Laude honors in 1990. So, it is never too late to pursue your dreams! It just takes lots of determination and grit.

My husband is in law enforcement and was the Lynn County Sheriff for the last 12 years. I have twin daughters, Misty and Kristy, and two sons, Richard and Tyler.  I have also been blessed with 8 grandchildren. My husband and I live on the farm near O'Donnell and are engaged in the farming and cattle industries as well. We also enjoy fishing in our spare time.
